How to Reach Vasai

By Train (Recommended)

The most convenient and popular way to reach Vasai from Mumbai is by local train on the Western Railway line. Vasai Road is a major railway station on the Western Railway main line and also serves the Vasai Road–Dahanu Road suburban section.

  • From Churchgate: 1 hour 30 min — 2 hours (depending on fast/slow)
  • From Dadar: 1 hour 15 min — 1 hour 40 min
  • From Borivali: 45 min — 1 hour
  • Frequency: Every 15–20 minutes during peak hours
  • Fare: Approximately Rs. 30–70 depending on class and distance

At Vasai Road station, you'll find auto-rickshaws and taxis waiting outside. Most attractions are 15–30 minutes away by auto.

By Road

  • Via NH-48 (Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway): Exit at Vasai. ~50 km from Mumbai, 1–1.5 hours depending on traffic.
  • By bus: MSRTC and private buses run from Mumbai (Borivali, Andheri, Dadar) to Vasai.
  • By car: Drive via Western Express Highway to Dahisar, then NH-48 towards Ahmedabad. Take the Vasai exit.

By Air

The nearest airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM), Mumbai, approximately 60 km from Vasai. From the airport, take a taxi to Borivali station (30–45 min) and catch a local train to Vasai Road, or take a direct taxi (1.5–2 hours, Rs. 1,500–2,500).
