Tungareshwar Trek: A Complete Guide for Beginners
The Tungareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary trek is one of the best nature experiences near Vasai. The trail leads through dry deciduous forest to the ancient Tungareshwar Temple perched on a hilltop.

How to Reach the Trailhead
From Vasai Road station, take an auto-rickshaw or shared auto to Tungareshwar (approx 30–40 minutes, Rs. 200–300). The auto can drop you at the sanctuary entrance. From there, the trail begins.

Wildlife: You may spot spotted deer, langurs, wild boars, peacocks, and various bird species. Leopards are present but rarely seen. Stay on the main trail.
